HAITIFORWARD
POVERTY ERADICATION INITIATIVES

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
RURAL SECTION ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMS

•        CREATE AND PROMOTE  INTER COMMUNAL TRADES
•        TRAIN AND PROMOTE INVESTORS AND ENTREPRENEURS.
•        BETTER  INVESTMENT  TO PROMOTE GROWTH

EXAMPLE:
A COMMUNITY OF 200 PEOPLE WITH AN AVERAGE ANNUAL INCOME OF $150 USDA AN EQUIVALENT OF 6275
HAITIANS GOURDES (CURRENCY)

This 6275 Gourd are income from selling fruits, vegetables, livestock and other wares on the flea market.
When the drought season arrives this income is diminishing by 25 to 50 % on average.
This income is for the following: daily rations, medical care, funerals, weddings, seeds for farming and more.

PROJECT INITIATIVES:
A community of 200 people on an annual average of 3100 Haitian Gourds (currency) or less.
Example:
Investment in livestock for quick and guaranty returns.
Divide the group of 200 people x 4 = 50 people
Invest in mature livestock that’s ready to reproduce i.e. Pigs.
Since a pig can be reproducing 3 times on an annual basis we will use the pigs scenario as a catalyst projects:
5 pigs per group of 50 = 20 female pigs
Each reproductive period a well fed pig can have up to 15 little piglets with a survival rate of 90% = 13 survivals
Hypothetically speaking base on information I have gather over my trips to various part of Haiti in the last 21 years the followings
are true:
1 piglet = 850 Haitian Gourde (currency) x 13 survival piglets = 11050 gourde
Now 20 pigs having babies on a 90% survival rates = 260 piglets per reproductive period per year x =780 piglets per year @ 850
Haitian Gourde (currency)      =663300    gourde per year.
Now: scenario part 2
We can use revenue from 10 piglets to buy better feeding rations for the big so we can increase the survival rates

REVENUE REINVESTMENT INITIATIVES PART 1
Now we can start diversify our portfolio by investing in the members.
•If a farmer have 10 hectare of land that he would like to plant potatoes but he can only afford potatoes for only 2 hectare.
We will seat with this farmer, look at the land where he wants to plant the potatoes, we will propose changes where needed and we
will offer to draw from the pigs funds to invest in
farming:
The farmer will need to agree in principle to the followings:
•If we invest in his potatoes farm at the end of the harvest he will reimburse the organization the  amount invested plus 1.5 %
interest
•Preserve potatoes seed for the next plating season.
Now this farmer is on his way to self economic freedom. Because what he couldn't do by himself we pull together and make it
happened.
Save %1 of his/her revenues in  the organization credit union savings & loans

Now , we can invest in bakery, community health care, clean drinking water, schools and trade school.

REVENUE REINVESTMENT INITIATIVES PART 2

Now, a merchant who like to  open a bakery or  travel to buy wares from other provinces  of Haiti or  abroad and come to resale
them.
Invest $5000 on the merchant
He/she travel abroad or to other provinces of Haiti brought merchandises and come back and resale for $8000 this merchant will
require to repay the loan on 3 term: ½ / ¼ and ¼ = 2500 – 1250- 1250
What this merchant could not do for himself /herself  now become possible trough the Haitiforward
